Social Services Assistance at Whittemore: How Can You Fight Medicare Fraud?

posted Feb 26, 2015, 9:22 AM by Whittemore Technology

What is Medicare Fraud? How can you keep your medical information private? What happens if you are billed by Medicare for services you did not receive? What about those ads promising you a scooter or other medical equipment? Why is checking your Medicare Summary Notice the most important thing that you can do? All these questions will be answered in our Western Connecticut Area Agency on Agency’s First Tuesday Roundtable Chat on March 3, 2015. They will provide brochures explaining the Medicare Savings Program, eligibility requirements, income limits, and the benefits.  Applications will be available to sign-up with a medical savings plan. After the Roundtable, the counselor will be available privately and confidentially for individual questions on any of these topics: * Medicare * Medigap * Meals on Wheels * SNAP * Housing * Household chores * Transportation. Get assistance from a WCAAA representative on the first Tuesday morning of each month from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. All discussions are free and confidential. Call Whittemore Library for more information- 203-729-4591.
