National Poetry Month Readings Sponsored by the Naugatuck River Review

posted Apr 15, 2015, 7:08 AM by Whittemore Technology

Poetry can take us to places and express in words what might otherwise only be felt. Come observe National Poetry Month on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. when the Naugatuck River Review (NRR), a journal of narrative poetry that “sings”, hosts a gathering in our original 1894 Reading Room. The event will be hosted by Lori Desrosiers, the journal’s editor and member of the faculties at Westfield State University, Holyoke Community College, and Lesley University’s MFA graduate program. She will be joined by Virginia Shreve, winner of last year’s NRR poetry contest, and Victoria Munoz- singer/songwriter and poet who is the founder of the local Calling All Poets Series and the Poetry Salon. Do you have a story to tell? If you would like to read a poem of your own, please contact the library to get information on possible participation in the event. Light refreshments served. Call Whittemore Library for more information- 729-4591.
