Children

Internet Use Policy

Only children (8th grade or younger) with an adult (over 18) are allowed on the children’s department computers. The adult must have a valid library card and less than $1.99 in fines or lost materials.

Pamphlet Display

The library offers a 10-month display of free handouts and pamphlets on current social issues. Download the Schedule

Chess and Game Club

Saturdays at 1:00 PM. Ages 8-12.

Club consists of strategy, multiplayer board and videogames with Wii games also provided. Free play in the Children’s Department.

Storytime Events

If you wish to know more about the storytimes offered in the Children's Department you can contact us at HWLCD "at sign" biblio (dot) org and you will be put on our mailing list.

All Welcome Storytime: Fridays at 10:30 AM. This program is hosted by the Discovery Program.

Museum Passes

The Children's Department has several passes that offer free or discounted admission to various locations in Connecticut.
